I just wanted to know what the rites of the Jews of the old seats. There he sat, where and how people are organized. All of these things.

I do not know how far back it goes, but the sect of Orthodox Judaism is in their traditional customs and habits of men and women were separated and divided by a partition that could not see each other, or women were on the balcony. Thus, most of the synagogues are constructed so that the seat is facing the direction of Jerusalem. Even after the sect. Ashkenazi or Sephardic seats in front of the ark (which holds the Torah), or in a circle around the arch
